    Panel line washing

    Hi guys,
    first time trying panel line washing using tamiya accent panel line.
    Got a problem. On applying the panel line, it corroded away the base paint (tamiya spray paint).why huh???

    did you spray a layer of gloss coat 1st b4 the panel line?

    Silver, no top coat.
    Alex, yes painted and left to curr overnight
    Cleaver, i have repainted

    Basically, when i panel line. I use the ear buds to wipe when overshot.but strangely the base paint also came off.

    wat u use to clean off the excess?
    probably is not the panel accent that remove the base paint.

    hm. if its just dry cotton buds maybe you rubbed too hard? usually for removing excess panel lines dont really have to rub hard, just gently go over the excess can already. Smile

    Hmmm...I suspect it the plastics...
    For RG white parts, there is a runner with a set of parts in pearl white.
    Suspect those are too glossy..so the primer and paint does not stick.
    Let me try sanding
    then reprime and repaint and repanel line.... doing all over again....

    hm. can't see clearly from the picture but is it the base coat that is getting wiped away? or is the darker areas from the smudge off the enamel paint? If its the base coat just asking what did you use for your white?
