    question on rg freedom

Post by airstorm on Wed 28 Dec 2011, 1:17 pm

    Hi guys,
Have a small issue test fitting the rg freedom.
In the picture C12 is snap to the body ab.
But is there suppose to be a gap?? Cant seem to force fully together. This in turn cause the body armour front and back to not able to snap together later. please advice

hm. no idea cos i havent done a RG freedom yet. can wait for those who did one to help! Smile

maybe you can check the steps before that? i remb all these RG inner frames have to be pre-bent or cut at some parts first to release the joints, may be the case for this piece.

I have an RG Freedom myself but haven't brought myself to building it just yet. I think sliver has built it -- send him a pm perhaps?

Sorry for e delay cos o jus reached home n need to 'open up' my rg... Small parts n fat fingers dun really go well..

    To ans yr qn,

    There shld b no gap.

My guess is tat perhaps yr 'male' n 'female' joint might b a bit 'deformed' eg a straight male joint might b bent due to misalignment during fitting? Do check e conditions of e joints?

    Hope e pic helped?

    Thanks silver.
The 3 joints look fine (2 thin horizontal joint and the W-shaped center joint). Anyway, I just keep sanding down the W-shaped joints until there is no gap when joining to the AB.

    Guess it too long.

it shouldnt be a defect with the kit, could it?

it seems more like a defects to me. Mad
These 2 parts are not joining together using the normal round male and female joint.

they are suppose to snap fit easily and also allow easy separation ( like armour pieces)

icic.. Sanding e 'too long' joint shld b able to rectify e problem in this case as suggested by u.

Cant wait to see yr freedom soon! Smile
