    MG Sandrock Gundam (TV Version)

Post by brit363 on Fri 11 Jul 2014, 11:47 am

Its been a while since I've posted here.... Been inactive with my Rose gundam conversion... just because I'm scared to ruin it and won't find replacement if that happens... On the other hand I found a new project that I felt I could try and hopefully this time I could finish....

I've seen some WIP of other modeler from another forum but I would like to try my take on this....

I've used the original MG Sandrock and sculpt some parts here and there.... currently I'm focusing on one side first and hope to recast it for the other side... (all fingers crossed)

comments and suggestions are most welcome..... Embarassed

    hehehe....

That's what I want to ask as well... Cause those are from the b-club kit and I don't want to use them cause I also want to make them together with the old 90's kit.... I've bought some resin on art friend but I think its not the tan colored one... so I don't know where to find such... as of now I'm focusing on sculpting things fist....

Any bro here knows where to buy those alumilite products??? and roughly how much would be the budget???

artfriend got resin??? i only bought the clear casting resin from them before, are u refering to those?

in the end i didnt get any since it doesnt make sense for me spend almost s$200 to recaste a small part. it may be relative cheap for the base amount they are selling as a unit(makes sense for importing something so heavy) but unless u've got a lot or large things to casts. think twice about it.

also u will need a degassing chamber

Yeah.... I never knew recasting would be this complicated.... Crying or Very sad I'll probably try to scratch build the skirt as they are the most parts that I'm intending to recast....

    minor updates....
moded the shoulders and added the chest cover.. though the cockpit hatch can't be opened anymore.... I can't remember if it was a sliding mechanism in the anime....

copying the box art of the MG...

and probably the pose that I would go for...

Just a small update... I didn't maximize the long weekend... I revised the head thining down the chin so that i could extend the face plate down however on the process i borke the chin...  Sad  I also revised the shoulders making it shorter than the previous and expanded the chest abit just to give it more of the "okawara" feel to it... one thin I noticed though is that the waist section of the mg wing is taller than of the EW series so I might revised the waist section as well as this should be taller than wing... also started pla plating the skirt armor... I noticed that the back skirt is hunched so I'm sculpting putty to achieve this...

I need to revise the backpack as well as its too big for the new mg but that's in the later part...

It has been 2 years plus now.... I haven't finished this kit yet.... I've had issues with proportions and decided to redo everything... Now I've started redesigning most of the armor and the weapon and I think I'm happy with how this is turning out... Compared to the old one, I think this looks better. I don't know however when I'll be able to finish this again though.. Hahaha!!! but I'll keep d updates if there's any... Thanks...

rest of the print outs came today. Did a bit of test fitting to see the areas I need to revise. Apologies for the blutacks used. It made my work more messy looking... Embarassed

Just a bit of update with my slow progress. revised and printed some parts. Next thing is to add putty to resculpt the thighs, line scribbing and then recasting of some parts.
