Yeah, I agree with Unnamezz. Do bring more $$$.
Somemore now the Yen currency is low, no harm changing more of it! Unuse yen can keep for next Japan trip too.

Even at hokkaido, I have already spend 84k yen on my gundam purchases!

Think the damage would be much higher if I visit Akihabara in Tokyo...

Most shops do accept credit cards. but advisable to pay in cash as credit card use overseas have bank fee charges and high currency exchange rate plus charges too.

Just came back from Japan recently thinling wanto share my experience with all the bros out here.

Went straight to Ahkihabara yodobashi camera on the first day I arrived as I stayed near the area...
was disappointed on the selection of gunpla in the shop it was abit pathetic but prices are still very cheap compared to sin... I was abit devestated feel like I wasted my $$ and time going there it look so different from the pic...

I went back empty handed... they don't even have RG strike freedom...

My schdule was abit tight as I only have 1 day to shop for my gunpla. After that nite I when to Hakone hot spring area for a couple of days then I was back in Ahkiharabara.

early morining after breakfast I rush to the streets and enter almost all the buliding along the main street to look for gunpla... all the shops either have little selections or prices are much more expensive compared to yodobashi.

After visiting 7~8 shop I was sad and thinking to my self just go b yodobashi and buy a PG RF and some misc mg...

Eh.. imho, yodobashi cam u can go. Although odaiba has e gundam tokyo front, u can get some exclusives kits there but price might not be cheaper than what yodobashi can offer imho (bros do correct me if i'm wrong)

Yodobashi price should be cheaper than gundam front I think its rrp there if I'm not wrong. Yodobashi is definitely below rrp. Plus in Oct above 5000 yen u can get tax rebate which Yodobashi can do on the spot for you. The whole Yodobashi is actually quite fun to walk thorugh its a rojak store and more, even sell Rolex

    Hi,

Going to osaka soon, was wondering if the yodobashi camera do sell clear edition gundams, like clear red frame flight unit or kshatriya?

Was thinking to get a PG kit too but can I know roughly the box dimension?
How much roughly is a PG kit there?

    Any mailing services near there?
How much is the freight charges?

    Thanks!

Didn't see any limited kits in Yodobashi in Osaka the last time I was there. You might have better luck at Den Den town. Prices are better there anyway.

Lol... If u read all the posts from this thread, they got mention den den in Osaka. Haha.

Anyway back to current topic, can try oak hotel. 5-10mins walk from ueno station, walking time depends on how fast u walk.

It's 1 train stop away from akiba. Can also take bus there. Just ask the hotel staffs lol.

yeah, but should choose stations with more access routes. like Ueno, Shinjuku, unless u r only there for gunpla, then stay in akiba.
