wa this technique to advance for me i think i just visit hobby point at tiong bahru for the last time to search for bright sliver/chrome sliver.

ELSE i would just paint gold over black instead of silver.. surrender

read where to strip paint there got write brake fluid is less harming to plastic then thinner. To strip lacquer based paint...end up also dissolve my kit Sad now wait for replacement come and i shall stop spraying innerframe only parts that will expose to the outside. But pure gun metal without gloss/primeir still looks better than bare grey plastic

sorry to hear that.. actually I did that too with lacquer thinner. I thought I'd dip the parts for a few seconds, then wipe the paint with cotton buds. but the parts broke. Sad

looks like really have to be extra careful when stripping lacquer paint...lucky i'm still at page 1 of the instruction manual..only 9parts have to be replaced.

hmm if i hand paint the gold trim, how to clean off the excess that lay on the black black ground? Or masking is a must to do this?

if you don't want to mask, I'd suggest you paint the gold first using lacquer paint, then paint the black with enamel/acrylic. a layer of gloss coat might be recommended if you're not confident with your hand painting skill.
