    MG zz gundam

Post by ongkh2000 on Sat 11 Aug 2012, 6:21 pm

Hi all, im embarking on a MG zz gundam build. my general concept is not there yet, just going to clear seamlines, add some plaplates/panel lines on the way and see how it goes.

here's a snapfit picture of it from the net (pardon me i didnt snap a picture of the snapfit kit)

here's a simple mod i did for the shoulders :

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

as you can see, theres a seamline for the shoulder part, i could clear it but if i do, i will have to either prepaint the inner parts/mask like crazy (from my own perspective)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

so what i did was, i used a chisel of roughly 1mm and made a grove on one side of the armor, so that when put together it looks like part of the shoulder's detail. this way, i can dismantle the parts for easy painting.

just a minor update, more to come!

Super steady hands to get that clean cut at the edge of the panel line! Shocked

i used dymo tape as a guideline, but sometimes i might eat into the dymo tape, if u know what i mean. i also got quite a deep cut from my knife while straightening the edges. Sad

minor update, clear seamline at the head and sharpened v-fin. this kit has many seamlines at weird places and are quite difficult to clear.. challenging!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

shoudlers as well.. added some plaplates and scribed some lines.. and some koto parts

i shaved some plastic off the lower arm, to make the arm shape slimmer.. previously the arms were too bulky imho..

will be using this for gbwc.. so moved into the correct thread. haha.

didnt take enough piectures though.. sorry for that as i was rushing through all the mods and stuff..

the worksmanship for this kit of mine wasnt really well done.. but i still had to finish it anyway.. did what i could.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

so after priming, moved on to painting..

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

    wip of the base!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

the base units were from wave's H hangar series. the beams were from evergreen plapltes, can be bought from artfriend. i used the square beams to try and replicate the railings.
